Impact
This 10-Fold event offers opportunities to greatly impact 10 ministries of The United Methodist Church. By visiting this site every day, clicking on the day’s project to trigger a $1 donation on your behalf, and encouraging your friends to do the same, you can bring awareness, prayerful support, and a potential gift of $10,000 to each ministry.
For an even greater impact, you, your friends, your congregation, and even your community can choose from over 1,000 Advance projects or over 300 missionaries to support with prayer, volunteer hours, or financial gifts. All you need to do is go to www.advancinghope.org, where you can learn about all the projects and missionaries.
The Advance is the accountable, designated-giving channel of The United Methodist Church that ensures 100 percent of each gift reaches its intended mission or ministry. The projects seek to improve not only the physical quality of life through relief, development, and social justice, but also the spiritual and religious quality of life by sharing the love of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church growth. Gifts given through The Advance reach projects in over 100 countries. Projects are recommended by our UMC Central Conferences, church partners, and NGO partners, then screened by Global Ministries for quality of program design and sustainability. An approved Advance project indicates that the ministry is accountable and a priority mission project of the Church. Advance status also provides a recognized connection point for donors and projects to form relationships that can transform the lives of all involved.
In addition to Advance projects, every Global Ministries missionary has a similar Advance status as a connection point for churches to relate to mission and ministry around the world. Missionaries cultivate support by speaking at churches about their work, sending newsletters, and are now increasingly using online technology to connect to individuals and churches through live online discussions.
